Pressing – Silver
Pirates Press Records could not be more proud to present To Victory, the first solo recordings from infamous/notorious Rancid frontman Lars Frederiksen. Overflowing with the passion he’s so well known for, these six songs are belted out with the authenticity and power that only Lars could bring to the table.
The song selection holds deep personal meaning for Lars, as he writes in an inspired and detailed explanation within the packaging. Bringing together and reinventing songs from his other bands, and even including a few covers, it’s quite clear to see how important this release is for him.
While he does invite a few guests to the party, including longtime Rancid bandmate Matt Freeman, the centerpiece of this album is Lars performing these songs with his voice and electric guitar, inspired by Billy Bragg.
Lars’s countless fans across the globe have long suspected he had records like this in him, at least as far back as when Rancid released the Bragg-inspired “The War’s End,” and To Victory is just the beginning for this special project by a punk rock legend.
