I am confronted with some of the most honest and candid punk rock I have encountered in years.
Manchester is the home of UK DIY punk. If someone tells you otherwise, they’re wrong. Manchester birthed Incisions in 2015 and they’ve been honing the sound since. This is what being young, working class punk in the North of England sounds like. They’ve combined love, lust, liquor and rage, dragging 80s American hardcore through the streets of Manchester.
Initially forming in 2015 as a 3 piece hardcore band Incisions have never been a band to rest on their laurels. Having burned out 7 different line ups in 4 years and now playing with the classic hardcore band formation (Jordan – vox, Ken – bass, Battle – guitar, Tet – drums) the band have released 3 EP’s, a split with Pizzatramp and their debut self-titled LP through TNSrecords.
Incisions are now heading into 2021 with a fresh take on their now established sound and an infamous reputation for their ‘lively’ gigs. Since releasing their debut LP through TNS at the end of 2018, Incisions have played alongside some of the biggest names in Punk (Poison Idea, D.O.A, Adolescents, Drug Church, D.I to name a few) with some well received festival appearances along the way.
Now putting the finishing touches to their second LP – the first with former Riggots frontman Martin Battle playing guitar – 2021 is set to be another busy year for the pride of Manchester. With Jordan now dropping the guitar/vocalist role everyone in the band is now able to focus on their respective duties. As a result, expect their new material to be heavier, angrier, faster, sexier and much more lucrative for the already high-earning band than ever before.
“With Incisions, I am confronted with some of the most honest and candid punk rock I have encountered in years.” Tonko Jeff
“This is pretty much like having the living shite kicked out of you on a terrible night out whilst Poison Idea rip through a set and then proceed to piss all over your broken and battered twitching body as you lay helpless in the gutter. Feral, mate.” Apathy and Exhaustion
“Incisions are a band quintessential and essential. Quintessential in their classic British approach to Punk-Rock. They are laden with dry whit, sarcasm and unrivalled honesty hidden behind nothing but cathartic expression and a musical style classic but self-aware enough to appeal beyond the dinosaur Punks who really cannot seem to move with the times”.
