JODIE FASTER KEEPING SAINT-LUNDI

We are delighted to release Saint-Lundi, the new album from the wonderful Jodie Faster. The UK release date is 18th April with a UK launch gig at Manchester Punk Festival on Saturday 19th. Order now.

Saint-Lundi was a tradition among the western Europe working class, dating back to medieval age. Workers took off Mondays without a warning, often to meet at the tavern and party. Along the centuries, it started to expand to Tuesday, and Wednesday… It was the occasion to discuss political matters and self organize, leading to impromptu strikes the next days. It was also about reclaiming some free time outside of Sundays, day of the church. The mass industries in the 19th century, and the rarefaction of workshops led to the disappearance of the Saint Lundi, a joyful and rebellious form of self-organization.

Formed in Lille, France, in late 2016, Jodie Faster is a fast hardcore, political punk quartet. Playing furious and frantic songs about modern life, oppression systems, life on the road and punk ethos. They’ve toured Europe and UK several time, did videos, met some great people around, promote gigs in their hometown, played many great festivals, seen a lot of killer bands and personal idols, told some good jokes & some botched ones, crossed some borders easily and other less easily… Often sad, always funny, Jodie Faster tries to spread some rage and some love around.

Jodie Faster’s Saint-Lundi will be released in France, UK, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Hungary, US and Lithuania by a collective of independent venues.
